My novel is about a girl in Chicago who realizes that she has paranormal powers. She is discovered by the paranormal 'police', the law enforcement of such people. They are sort of like CSI with these powers. The rest you'll get from the characters! Reagan Czerwinski- Eighteen years old. Pretty, smart, witty. Spoiled and used to getting her own way. Can control fire and often sets things on fire, causes object to heat up and burns people by mistake. Loves reading, baseball and prime time TV. Has feelings for Horatio but shy to show them because doesn’t truly believe relationships work out nor does she believe in true love until she and Horatio begin dating. Horatio Langdon- Twenty-two year old detective with the rare power to control and generate electricity. Born and raised in London, England. Hates his red hair until he finds out Reagan likes it. Thinks of himself as a nerd. Loves to read and play guitar in his band. Has deep feelings for Reagan but thinks she will never love him back because he isn’t rich. Very smart and became a detective to help people and make the world better even though he loves science, English and music and planned on going to an Ivy League until recruited by Littman. Edmond Covens- Horatio’s best friend since high school. Not overly smart but very handsome and athletic. Has inhuman strength. Played football and could have been an NFL super star but became a detective along with Horatio because he felt being an athlete was superficial and wanted to do something to help the world. Had a terrible breakup with his ex, Susanne, and now is hesitant to show romantic feelings. Extremely loyal friend and encourages Horatio to be with Reagan. Evelyn Czerwinski- Reagan’s selfish mother. Puts her daughter second and never really listens to her. Owns a high end makeup company. Deep down loves her daughter a lot and realizes she must do more to show it. Asha Torres- Reagan’s best school friend. Often disagrees with Reagan, mostly about boys and Reagan’s love for things that aren’t ‘cool’. Can be disloyal and selfish but knows Reagan well and helps her often with relationships. Remains close to Reagan despite their disagreements. Claire Langdon- Horatio's pet kitten. Finds her on the street and takes her in. Horatio loves her deary but tries to be manly and not let it show too much. Reagan thinks both the kitten and Horatio's love for her are adorable. Stephanie (Steph) Smith- The head of the lab and lab techs. Smart and kind, compassionate. Youngest head of a lab in the US. Very down to earth and helpful. Gets along well with Reagan. Came from a blue collar family. Has the power to read people’s feelings. Ivan Littman- The boss of the Chicago Paranormal District. Selfish and uses people but is a loyal and smart boss. Does not get along well with Horatio and can be offensive towards him, especially making fun of his affection towards Reagan. Impossible to lie to. Gwen Cunningham- The coroner. Can see what people went through before death. Good friends with Horatio which causes Reagan to believe there is something going on between them. Kind and caring. Eli Watson- The newest detective. Finds Reagan pretty but then realizes she isn’t quite for him. Tiffany Ellis- Detective. Dislikes Reagan because she is new and getting attention. Has the power to make people swoon over her. Xavier Brone- The villain. Takes other’s powers. Wants Reagan and Horatio for his own. Has history with an event with Horatio when Horatio was younger. Very cruel. Wants to replicate the Great Fire and plans on using Reagan’s powers to do so. Cayla Seffner- One of Brone’s people. Stalks Reagan and tries to harm her. Stereotyped as a ‘dumb blonde’. Devin Janis- Another of Brone’s people. Tries to hurt Reagan often. Has the power to cut people and slice their skin. Susanne Edith- Edmond’s ex-girlfriend. Has the power to hypnotize people.
